On December 29th, the ‘2011 MBC Entertainment Awards‘ honored this year’s outstanding talents at the MBC Dream Center in Ilsan.
Unfortunately, the awards ceremony met with some difficulties that persisted throughout the show, earning criticism and dissatisfaction from its viewers.
The chain of mistakes began with the hosts, as MC Park Ha Sun stumbled through several speeches. Instead of recovering from her mistakes, she was seen covering her face with her hands, saying, “What do I do” into the mic. Viewers had hoped that Yoon Jong Shin would carry on the show, but he only mumbled and shied away from his usual witticisms.
More than anything, viewers were dissatisfied with the way MBC freely gave out awards, adding in categories that many felt were unnecessary. Most of the awards given out that night were ones that anyone could have won simply for attending.
MBC had also implemented a new system that would award TV shows, not an individual MC or comedian. This change was made largely due to the criticisms they received last year for giving out too many co-awards, which many felt dropped the value and prestige of the award.
Furthermore, MBC came under fire for giving the ‘Program of the Year’ award to the ‘I Am a Singer‘ team.
While many agreed that ‘I Am a Singer’ had created a ripple effect in the industry, they felt that ‘Infinity Challenge‘ was far more deserving of the award.

T-ara release their zombie concept for their 5 part "Lovey Dovey" MV
T-ara has released a few concept photos of their zombie version of their “Lovey Dovey” MV!
As previously reported, “Lovey Dovey” will feature five music video installments, each with a specific theme. The zombie concept unveiled today goes with the third ‘Zombie’ themed music video. The other versions include themes such as ‘Tokyo’ and ‘Drama’.
Although the concept is meant to give a little spook, the members still managed to look eerily cute, as if they’re dressed up to celebrate Halloween. Netizens commented, “I wonder what kind of song it is,” “I love this zombie version!” and “Curious about the other versions!”
As reported previously, the song is produced by Shinsadong Tiger and Choi Kyu Sung and features an electronic sound. The single will be released on January 2nd, along with the first version of the MV, which will be the drama version. The various versions will follow after with the final version being released on January 10th.

SBS’s “2011 Drama Awards” ended the year by awarding actor Han Suk Gyu with the Daesang.
Han Suk Gyu was recognized for his outstanding portrayal of King Sejong in the historical series, ‘Tree With Deep Roots‘. After accepting the trophy, the actor said, “First, I would like to thank my parents. I thank my parents who have given me everything from my voice to inner spirituality.”

Singer Lee Seung Gi revealed a rather unique text message that he continues to receive from one of his fans.
On the episode of SBS ‘Strong Heart‘ that aired December 27th, the guests shared stories of fans that left a strong impression on them.
Lee Seung Gi revealed that there is a fan that keeps sending him texts saying, “Is kimchi at your house good?”
“The kimchi at your house is good” are lyrics to a kimchi refrigerator CF song that Lee Seung Gi and Cha Seung Won starred in. Cha Seung Won actually sings those lyrics to Seung Gi in the CF.
“I keep receiving that text from a number I can’t respond to. ‘Is kimchi at your house good?’, I keep getting these texts!”, he said, evoking laughter on set.

Big Bang has finally reunited on camera! All five members were seen in a making-of clip released by Gmarket on December 26th for their 2012 promotions.
The video acts as a teaser for Gmarket’s marketing plans for the new year. Judging by the clip, it looks like the boys will deliver a dramatic CF filled to the brim with high tension. In one scene, T.O.P. is seen flipping out on his members; later on, he and G-Dragon circle each other warily in a parking lot.

2AM reveals practice videos for their covers of "Step" and "Be My Baby"
On December 27th, Big Hit Entertainment shared 2AM’s practice video for “Step” and “Be My Baby” with fans on YouTube. As expected, Jo Kwon brought out his impressive kkap, hitting each dance point perfectly. Not to be outdone, his groupmates Jinwoon, Changmin, and Seulong did their utmost to keep up, although they’d occasionally crack a smile or burst into laughter.

My Top Songs of 2011
Well it's nearing the end of 2011 and as I look back there has been some great songs that have came out and that includes the songs that have recently came out this month and last.
For this post I have decided that I will be listing the songs by artist in alphabetical order as opposed to by month or by memory (that would end in disaster). I hope that you guys will enjoy this. All along this post I might be putting little comments about the artists (in my opinion) ^^. Also another thing is that some of my top songs might not be a song that was released in 2011 but it is a song that listened to quite a lot.

I just discovered Tablo this year when Fever's End came out. I have really been missing out because he is amazing. Everytime I listened to his new album, even though I couldn't understand a single word, the music spoke to my heart (no kidding) and if music does that to you even if it isn't in your native language that speaks volumes.

AZIATIX releases MV for "Nothing Compares to You"
AZIATIX just got done with their very first US Tour and the boys decided to release the MV for their fans as a special present for Christmas.
The MV included footage from Japan, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco. They filmed it as a thank you gift to all the fans ho have given them all the love and support over the past year.
Their album "Nocturnal Deluxe Album" is set to be released on January 18, 2012.

Junggigo releases "Stay"
Junggigo, the beloved crooner in the hip hop sphere, has released a new love song just in time for Christmas!
“Stay” was released on December 22nd, and it’s the first track of Junggigo’s ‘My Favorite Cut‘ series. His sweet and pleasant voice meld fluidly into the romantic lines, “I only waited for you while others were in love… So please stay with me.”
Fans already received a lovely gift from Junggigo earlier this month with his OST track “Waterfalls“ for the movie ‘Chilling Romance‘ (starring Son Yejin and Lee Minki). However, his agency explained that the singer wanted to give one more musical treat as a Christmas present.
“This song was supposed to be released later on… however, Junggigo wanted to present his fans with a Christmas gift and so it was released as a single first,” they said.

EXO's Kai revealed
Split into two teams, EXO-K and EXO-M, the group is expected to make their debuts in both Korea and China with the same song on the same day. Their name ‘EXO’ is taken from ‘EXOPLANET’, which the group has taken to express themselves as a star from another planet. As previously explained, ‘K’ and ‘M’ stand for Korean and Mandarin.
KAI is a 17 year old boy who stands at 182 cm, and is described to have a broad range of dancing skills from ballet, jazz, hip hop, popping, and locking. There’s no word yet on which group he’ll belong to.

On December 22nd, the broadcast stated, “SM Entertainment worked with the Korean Federation of Pop Culture and Art Industry (KFPCAI) and the Korean Entertainment Producer’s Association (KEPA) to keep JYJ from appearing on TV programs.”
Reporter Lee Sang Ho stated, “SM Entertainment is expecting a fine of around $500,000 USD to $800,000 USD within the year, which is the amount that JYJ lost by the obstruction. There is a lot of tension building around SM and the Fair Trade Commission, as the company has been trying to cut back on the costs of the fine as much as possible. The FTC’s chief, Lee Tae Hwi, has expressed that he hopes this case will be an opportunity for the entertainment industry to establish justice and order. There may be additional investigations ordered.”
The reporter then submitted documents to show that SM had worked with the KFPCAI and the KEPA to keep JYJ out of broadcast appearances. However, these documents of the KFPCAI attempting to restrict JYJ’s TV activities were already put in public light last October.
At the time, the KFPCAI and the KEPA had stated, “Due to the fact that the lawsuit surrounding the three members and SM Entertainment has yet to be resolved by the law, and since they [JYJ] have formed their own group for the release of albums and promotions, we have decided that no matter what the final judgment is, this will set an unfair precedent in the industry. As such, we have sent out letters to halt broadcast stations from allowing JYJ on their shows.”
The FTC, on the other hand, denies the claims. Speaking through OSEN, Lee Tae Hwi expressed, “We are in the process of an investigation because there has been a report of such activity, but whether or not we will take this to the committee has yet to be decided. We cannot reveal the inner details of the investigations yet, but we will take it to the committee once we judge that there were indeed illegal activities.”

A representative expressed, “Big Bang has composed many songs during their period of reflection this year. They’ll be choosing a few of them to include in their March release next year.”
He continued, “The title track is currently in the process of being chosen, and the music video filming will take place in January. All of the members are working diligently on the album’s production.”

Dangerous Boys Bring the Boys Out
On the December 25th epidsode of SNSD's new show, SNSD and the Dangorous Boys,SNSD will teach the five boys how to dance to their song, "The Boys", for the upcoming Street Jam competition.
In this show the girls mento five juvenile kids, who all need to have a helping hand to stabalize themselves and an attitude check.
I have yet to see the first episode but I think that I will watch it soon, because the show actually looks good.

I'm telling you my childhood was wrapped in Sailor Moon, Digimon, Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh. The originals, all these additional pokemon digimon and yu gi oh, which to me didn't make any sense to me. I stick to the originals and I miss them. But this post is about Digimon, Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh will come another day ^^.

The top celebrities have donated their talents to the Community Chest of Korea to create the music documentary ‘Dreams Come True‘. This documentary attempts to offer hope to the neglected young people in the world who were forced to give up on their dreams because of difficult family economic situations.
Girl group Jewelry shared their voice for the documentary, as well as Kim Hee Sun, former 015B vocalist Chiyeol, Lim Jung Hee, and more.
The members of Jewelry (Ha Juyeon, Kim Yewon, Park Semi, Kim Eunjung) stated, “We hope our song offers a sliver of hope to the underprivileged teens out there.”
Jewelry recorded the ‘Fruits of Love’ theme song “Step“, an upbeat and addictive modern rock track with positive, uplifting lyrics.
The album was put together in an effort to raise awareness of child welfare, and all the profits from the album will be donated to the less privileged.

U-Kiss reveals a special MV for their fans
The boys are in Japan at the moment to promote their single, "Tick Tack" and for fans they released an MV for "Lifetime For Kiss Me." The song is a remake of UN‘s 2011 track, “Lifetime“, and the boys did their labelmate senior proud by incorporating a smooth melody reminiscent of the original track. However, U-KISS gave it a brighter touch to fill their fans with love and joy over the holiday season.

It was stated earlier that the boys of ZE:A didn't have cell phones (how sad, I KNOW) but thankfully Christmas came early for them and they all have Blackberry Bold 9900s. On Blackberry's offical youtube channel they uploaded an interview with ZE:A, as they talked about their recent whereabouts, how they use their Blackberry, and much more.I don't know about you huys but I seriously want to get that phone (and the phone I have now isn't even a year old, I got for my birthday in April).

Concern for our Idols no that Kim Jong-Il is dead
Myself along with hundreds of other people are worried about our idols that are serving time in the military.

With the news of Kim Jong Il‘s death, South Koreans have been voicing their anxiety and speculations of what the future may hold. Naturally, concern for soldiers on active duty have been raised, especially from the numerous fandoms that have their favorite celebrities in the army.
Celebrities currently serving active military duty include Rain, Hyun Bin, Jung Tae Woo, Im Joo Hwan, Wheesung, T-Max‘s Kim Joon, Lee Jun Ki, Lee Dong Gun, Kim Ji Suk, Park Hyo Shin, Kim Heechul, Hwanhee, and Untouchable. With all active soldiers put on red alert, it’s likely that these celebrity soldiers will also put on alert as well.
A source from The National Defense Public Relations Department stated, “With the news of Kim Jong Il’s death, the public relations department (in which the celebrity soldiers serve) have cancelled some of their events… However, [the celebrity soldiers] are carrying out the duties they have been assigned.”
The celebrities serving in the public relations department are Lee Jun Ki, Park Hyo Shin, and Lee Dong Gun.
Hip-hop duo Untouchable, who are currently serving in the military band, are scheduled for 100 days of vacation. However with the sudden news of the North Korean dictator’s death, it is not yet clear whether the two will be able to take their vacation.
Untouchable’s agency stated, “The two members of Untouchable are supposed to come out for their first break at the end of this year, but in case [they aren't able to], we are a little worried for them. We just hope that they will perform their duties with good health.”
Currently, there are no celebrity soldiers who are serving on the front line. Although Hyun Bin was originally stationed as a combat soldier, he’s been serving in the public relations department since November.
Rain, who is currently serving as an assistant instructor, is also carrying out his normal duties and has not seen much change so far. Wheesung has also been appointed as an assistant instructor and is currently undergoing additional training.
T-Max’ Kim Joon and Paran‘s Ryan, who entered service in September, are currently serving as a conscripted police officer and a member of the Air Force band, respectively.

For the first time SNSD sings the Japanese version of "The Boys" for the first time. For some fans this can be seen as a early Christmas present.On December 19th, SNSD delivered a special performance for Fuji TV‘s ‘Hey Hey Hey X-mas Special‘.
I'm not really feeling this version, I mean I'm always that way when stars make a different version (in another language) when it was a hit in Korean. I'm American and I don't even like the English version of most songs, you think I would be happy because I can sing along but no I hate it because some things don't translate right in other language. Take The Boys English version, that song makes no sense, it just didn't translate right into English but in Korean that song could dominate the world. Even the Japanese version doesn't make any sense to me. It seemed that things were added in and I feel that if I look up the lyrics they won't make any sense. But that's just me, for all I know you guys could love this song.

Got a call from Boyfriend's Minwoo and Jeongmin on STARCALL
I am posting about this because this was my first starcall (that I answered). Whenever I get starcalls I usually get them past midnight and before 5am and during those times I am usually asleep. Last night I got lucky and got the call right before I went to sleep, so I answered. I really want to get one from BoA and Big Bang needs to get on Starcall because I would love to get a call from Top-oppa (aka my future husband ^^)
